Dear NSBE Professionals,
Welcome to the National Society of Black Engineers’ 49th Annual Convention (#NSBE49) in Kansas City, Missouri. As a resident of the “Show Me” state, I personally welcome you to experience the #NSBE 49: “I AM S.T.E.M.” Technical Professionals Conference (TPC), from March 22–26, 2023. Our team understands the value of networking with our NSBE family and providing systematic programming that will elevate our members to succeed professionally in their careers. We are working to provide programming for our members and partners that shows the world that we will elevate, recharge and inspire the world through STEM.
As NSBE Professionals, our goal is to “inspire the next generation of technical professionals and serve as a catalyst for transforming the culture of engineering.” As an organization of Black technical professionals, we are breaking barriers and working to grow technically and academically and to succeed professionally. In the “Show Me” state, we will have something to show you that will leave a lasting impact.
To bring the Convention’s vision to life, the objective of this year’s TPC is to “Reignite the Flame” within you with a series of technical innovation/innovative workshops, events, and training to meet the needs of every NSBE Professional — from early career to seasoned leaders of the industry. We want you to attend the Technical Professionals Conference at #NSBE49 to learn, network and have a good time but also to Reignite the Flame and inspire the young Black scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians following our paths.

- Special Interest Groups (SIGs) Workshops and Networking Events
- Technical Certifications
I encourage you to make your way to Kansas City to attend this year’s Convention and actively participate in all it has to offer. Please make use of the justification letter we have provided, when seeking support from your employer to attend this year’s Conference, and highlight all that is to come at #NSBE49: I AM S.T.E.M.
I look forward to seeing the many friends and colleagues returning to TPC, as well as the first-time attendees who will come to know and experience the excellence of the NSBE Professionals. I truly believe #NSBE49 will exceed your expectations!
