Brent DeMar is VP of Data Platform Engineering overseeing the development of next generation data platforms for data pipelines, data management and BI for Discover Financial Services.
Prior to this he managed ETL and real-time decisioning application development teams at Discover. He has also held architecture, infrastructure operations, and senior engineering positions across a diverse set of technologies.
Brent holds a BS in Computer Science from Purdue University and enjoys cooking, music, and New Orleans Saints football.
Josetta Jones
Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Diversity, Inclusion, and Ombuds
Josetta Jones is Chevron’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, a role she assumed in February 2021. Josetta leads the Diversity, Inclusion, and Ombuds function and oversees strategic diversity and inclusion (D&I) partnerships with professional and business associations.
Prior to this role, Josetta was Managing Counsel, Intellectual Property, where she was responsible for the Intellectual Property Law Group, comprised of trademark attorneys, patent attorneys, patent agents, legal analysts, and legal assistants who procure and protect Chevron’s intellectual property.
Josetta joined Chevron in 2002 as a patent attorney in the Intellectual Property Law Group. While in the Law Department, Josetta served for six years as Chair of Chevron’s Law Function Diversity Council focused on promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession both inside and outside of Chevron.
She has served as a role model volunteer with Techbridge Girls since 2003 and was a member of the Techbridge Girls’ California Advisory Board. Josetta was named one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Energy by Hart Energy in 2022 and was also honored as among the 2022 Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times. In 2014, Josetta was recognized as Best Bay Area Counsel Diversity Champion, by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and San Francisco Business Times. She also received the Diversity Champion Award from the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Barristers Club’s Diversity Committee in 2011.
Josetta received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University; a Juris Doctor degree from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law; and a Master of Laws in Patent and Intellectual Property Law from George Washington University.
When she’s away from work, Josetta likes book clubbing, traveling, listening to old school rap and hip-hop, and spending time with her family and friends. Josetta also keeps an open mindset about learning and trying new things. She has competed in a Spartan Race, which is an obstacle endurance challenge, run in the San Diego Rock & Roll Half Marathon, and aspires to attend a Formula 1 Race.
Dr. Kevin P. McAllister
Procurement Leader for the Innovation Center of Expertise (iCOE) for W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc.
Dr. Kevin P. McAllister, a native of Beaumont, Texas, is the Procurement Leader for the Innovation Center of Expertise (iCOE) for W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc., where he leads the strategic procurement activities for the next generation of Gore businesses from the innovation funnel to commercialization. He also partners with Talent Acquisition to identify and recruit emerging and experienced talent in both supply chain and S.T.E.M. to ensure a strong talent pipeline.
Dr. McAllister holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Oklahoma, a master’s degree in engineering management from Lamar University, and a Doctor of Business Administration from Goldey-Beacom College. Among his many achievements, he holds a United States Patent, was awarded two consecutive global sourcing excellence awards and was recently named by Gore to McKinsey’s Black Executive Leadership Program.
As an active NSBE leader, Dr. McAllister served faithfully as 2005 CPC advisor, 2004 CPC vice chair, and two-time Region V publications chair. He was recognized for his contributions in technical research (USTR), was a member of the 1997 National Academic Technical Bowl Championship team, made history as the first two-time Region V Member of the Year, and was the 1997 National Member of the Year.
In the community, Dr. McAllister advocates for persons with disabilities, is a business owner, a motivational speaker, and a proud life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
