Membership Renewal:

Registration Selection:

If you are a current NSBE member, you DO NOT need to select your registration type. The system will automatically select it for you! Before paying for your registration, please be sure that all of your personal information and registration price are correct before finalizing your order. If you have additional questions or concerns, please call the toll-free number, (844) 827-0832, or email nsbeconferenceservices@conferencedirect.com.

 

New Registration Policy:

The NSBE Pay Later Program is designed to allow registrants to secure their spots for the event/program.

If you do not pay your registration prior to the tier change, it will be canceled, and you will need to re-register for the Convention under the new rate.


Housing:

You must register and pay for the Convention first. Once you complete your registration, the system will automatically take you to the housing portal.

 

Cancellation, Credits, Transfer and Refund Policy:

Attendees may cancel their registrations and receive refunds through Feb. 25, 2019. After the deadline, all attendees requesting cancellation will have their refunds credited to their NSBEConnect account.

Anyone who has registered and paid for Annual Convention is eligible for a refund up to the amount that was paid, by submitting a refund request. Refund amounts are as follows:

  • A minimum of 45 days before the first day of the event: full refund
  • 30 to 44 days before the first day of the event: 75 percent refund
  • 15 to 29 days before the first day of the event: 50 percent refund
  • 15 days or fewer before the first day of the event:  will not be refunded. Instead, the funds will only be eligible for a NSBE credit or to be transferred to another individual.

Credit Policy:

Did you pay for a previous NSBE event and were not able to attend? If so, you may use that credit for a future NSBE event.

Anyone who has registered and paid for any event/program is eligible for a NSBE credit for the amount that was paid, under the following conditions.

  • Registrant must have paid monetarily for the registration(s).
  • Registrant is unable to attend the event/program due to circumstances beyond her or his control. Examples include inclement weather, such as a blizzard or hurricane, or a personal emergency, such as a death in the family or sickness requiring hospitalization.
  • The burden of proof is on the registrant. The authorizer of the event will determine what acceptable documentation will be required, on a case-by-case basis.
  • The credit request must be submitted for review within seven (7) days after the last day of the event.
  • Requests submitted more than seven (7) days after the last day of the event will be ineligible for a NSBE credit.

A NSBE credit issued to an account is valid for 12 months after the date issued. It may be used for any NSBE event/program.

Transfer Policy:

Transfer: Anyone who has registered and paid for any event/program is eligible to transfer their registration funds up to the amount that was paid. Please note: If your registration amount is greater than the value of the registration being transferred, you will need to pay the difference between the two prices.

 

To receive a refund, credit, or transfer, you must have paid monetarily for the registration(s) as well as complete and submit a request for review. Please click here to access the form.


Q: How do I register for NSBE’s 45th Annual Convention?

A: You may register by accessing our website at convention.nsbe.org. Click on the gray tab marked “Register for Event,” which will take you to our Meetings Center, and select “NSBE 45th Annual Convention (2019).”

Q: Do I need to be a NSBE member to attend the Annual Convention?

A: No, we welcome all to come and experience NSBE. However, there is a savings benefit for our members who attend Convention. We encourage you to see all that NSBE has to offer by visiting our website: www.nsbe.org.

Q: Do I need to be a NSBE member to have a NSBECONNECT account?

A: No, you do not.

Q: May I register others when I register for Annual Convention?

A: Yes, you may register both individuals and groups under your registration. You will have the option to add other attendees during the registration process. Please be sure to have all of the additional attendees’ information available:

  • Full Name
  • NSBEConnect Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Emergency Contact Information
  • Allergy/Dietary Restrictions

Q: When does the Early Bird Deadline end?

A: Early Bird Registration ends Nov. 30, 2018. Please be sure to lock in your rate to attend NSBE’s 45th Annual Convention.

Q: Will I receive confirmation of my registration?

A: Yes, you will receive a confirmation email sent to your NSB account email. It is important that you read through the confirmation and save it to reference at a later time

Q: I am already registered for Annual Convention but would like to register for session events. Where do I go?

A: Session events will be posted shortly. We will notify you via email once the registration is open. Please keep an eye out for it!

Q: Is there a pay later option?

A: Yes, we offer a pay later option. If you do not pay your registration prior to the tier change, it will be cancelled, and you will need to re-register for the Convention under the new rate.

Q: I registered for Annual Convention but can no longer attend. May I receive a refund?

How to Verify Your GPA

Collegiate Members will self - report their GPA on their profile and chapter advisors will approve it through the Educational Institution Portal in NSBEConnect. Please speak with your chapter advisor if they are not registered for access to the portal and ask them to complete this form. WHQ no longer accepts transcripts. Members must work with their advisor to obtain GPA confirmation on their NSBEConnect accounts. If your chapter does not have an advisor, please complete the GPA Collection Form and e-mail it to scholarships@nsbe.org. This form MUST be completely filled out and signed by the Office of Registrar or a University Official.  We will not accept forms that do not clearly and legibly state NSBE ID numbers.

NSBE Jr. Members will submit their GPA using the GPA Collection Form. This form MUST be completely filled out and signed by a counselor or school registrar.  Please email all signed and completed forms to scholarships@nsbe.org.  We will not accept forms that do not clearly and legibly state NSBE ID numbers.

Academic Pyramid of Excellence (APEx)

To become an APEx member, you must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 or higher. GPA's are measured on a 4.0 grading scale.

There are three APEx Levels:

  • APEx Honors: 3.6 - 4.0
  • APEx Torchbearer: 3.2 - 3.59
  • APEx Excel: 3.0- 3.19

How to Verify Your GPA before Convention

Collegiate Members:

  • Self-Report your GPA on NSBE profile every semester
  • NSBE Advisors will confirm/verify your GPA from their portal
  • (If you have an active chapter advisor, you cannot submit a GPA Verification Form, please contact scholarships@nsbe.org if you do not know who your chapter advisor is.)
  • The February 28th deadline does not apply to you, if you have a NSBE-Chapter adviser
  • At-Large members and members without an advisor will complete the GPA Verification Form
  • This form MUST be signed by the Office of Registrar
  • This form MUST be completely filled out
  • Email signed forms to scholarships@nsbe.org

NSBE Jr. Members:

  • NSBE Jr. members will submit their GPA using the GPA Verification Form. A counselor or school registrar MUST sign off on this form.
  • Email signed forms to scholarships@nsbe.org by the February 28th deadline

Please note: We will NOT accept any academic transcripts on-site at National Convention. Members must verify each semester for APEx status.  


APEx Verification Submission Deadline: February 28, 2019 4:59 PM EST.


(This deadline affects At-Large members, members without an advisor, and NSBE Jr. members) Collegiate members with active advisors can continue to verify GPA’s throughout convention.
