I am a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh now living in Minneapolis, Minn. I am a born and raised Pittsburgher, and love to see NSBE returning to my city for the 44th Annual Convention this year. Previously, before serving as your PCI Conference Coordinator, I was a member of NSBE’s Pitt Chapter. There, I served as Freshman Representative, TORCH Chair and Chapter President. Fun facts: I’m an avid Pirates fan.

I’m motivated this year by our PCI students and by ensuring that each and every student ignites a passion in NSBE, just as I have throughout the years. Having students get the opportunity to network with Black professionals and students from across the country is an experience anyone should cherish. In addition, enabling students to realize their potentials in their education in engineering and other STEM fields is my ultimate passion and goal as a NSBE member.

NSBE is great for me, because it will help me as I transition from college to the professional realm. In these early stages of my career, I see myself tapping into NSBE’s resources and growing as a young professional in engineering to impact my company and my skills and prepare myself for new adventures.

This year, I want to see every student leaving Convention excited to come back to the next. Moreover, I see Pittsburgh as the perfect host city to intertwine the convention experience with the Black community and culture of the city in ways that have never been done before.

To increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. Visit NSBE.org for more information.
